Software Developer

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Software Developer based in our West Sussex headquarters. The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week and will earn in the region of £35,000 depending on experience.

We are looking for an experienced software developer, to develop our:

  • Laboratory Management database system that controls the workflow through the materials test laboratory
  • LabVIEW applications to post process test results and data acquisition systems.

This is a varied role encompassing programming, system design, UI design etc. There is the potential to grow with the company and apply your skills on more of the company’s software products in the future.

Role Requirements
These skills would be an advantage for the position:

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Possess good communication and reporting skills
  • Be able to work in a team and on own initiative
  • HTML
  • CSS styles
  • XML
  • Microsoft SQL
  • Visual Basic
  • JavaScript
  • ASP.NET
  • Microsoft Azure Environment
  • LabVIEW Programming
  • Good working knowledge of database design
  • Good problem-solving skills

Role Responsibilities

  • Design of suitable user-friendly UI’s
  • The ability to construct software code and applications
  • A strong desire for organisation and efficiency
  • Good time management skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills & programming methods.
  • A continuous drive for improvement in all aspects of the software practices
  • Programming for processing of material test data
  • Programming for Industry 4 database
  • Produce progress reports of the project
